Gopal Sarkar is an accomplished academician with a strong foundation in English literature and a passion for research and teaching. He earned his B.A. (Honours in English) from Malda College under the University of Gour Banga in 2015 and completed his M.A. in English from the University of Gour Banga in 2017. He qualified the UGC-NET for Lectureship in July 2016, showcasing his academic excellence, and obtained his M.Phil. in English from Raiganj University in 2022.
Currently residing in Raniganj, Malda, West Bengal, Gopal Sarkar has been associated with Dr. Meghnad Saha College as a State Aided College Teacher in the Department of English since January 2020. His teaching experience includes a stint as a Guest Lecturer in the same institution.
Specializing in Greek Drama, Indian English Literature, British Poetry, and the Short Story, his academic interests extend to Cultural Studies, Film Studies, and Dalit Studies. His research focuses on Folk Studies and the South Asian Diaspora, enriching the fields of literature and cultural discourse.
Gopal Sarkar has a prolific publication record, contributing articles to reputed journals and chapters to edited volumes. His works explore diverse themes, including alienation in literature, ecocriticism, and representations in cinema.
